A mighty voice echoes as a synthesized cosmic humming rushes over the vocals. Then a tight and bustling rhythm section opens up the chorus. A strong, funky bass riff and a smokin’ gospel organ melody ties the groove together. Andrew Smith’s use of celestial sound effects with an R & B groove is brilliant. The layering of Kay’s silky vocals highlights her inspiring message. “Blood in My Veins” is a deep, soulful ballad about life's ups and downs..
“Blood in My veins” is about overcoming challenges that linger in your memories. Kay Soul shares her story about her struggles as she reclaims her power and strength from her broken pieces. There is beauty in the messy parts of ourselves which make up the graceful and vital parts of who we are.

“There’s blood in my veins. Fear in my pain. Can’t come out into the sunlight. Cause it never cease to rain on me. There's blood in my veins. Fear in my pain. Can't come out into the sunlight, Cause, it never cease to rain on me.”
Kay Soul has an alluring and expressive vocal style that can carry a powerful message. Her lyrics are heartfelt and her performance is genuine, articulate and deep.
