“Flight to Nowhere” is a catchy pop-rock ballad from the album Baby Blue by Barry Rock. The intro comes in gentle, with electric guitar and a nice light drumbeat. There is a strong Beach Boys flavor heard in Barry's smooth, tenor and masculine radio-ready vocals while the instrumentation has a Beatles vibe. The delicate female vocal under the male lead vocals give the song an intimate layer.
The song has a retro sound that hearkens back to the days of good old-fashioned love songs, the kind of love songs that made you swoon at the movies. The background vocals are very well-placed and the hook builds perfectly. Strong hooks are a signature part of Barry's infectious song-writing and this song is no exception.
Performances by guitarist, Jim Sarles; drummer,Lou Agista; and bassist, Mick James are flawless. Mick James is a songwriter/Producer known for working with Criss Angel. The arrangement and production in “Flight to Nowhere’ is reminiscent of bands like the Eagles in their song “Long Road Out of Eden” - you can hear that same electricity in the guitar solos and in the sweet riffs during the chorus. Producer and songwriter Mick did an incredible job executing this song.
“There’s a flight to nowhere, and baby I got to go.” The chorus leads heavily into the harmonic verse. "Flight to Nowhere" is a true rock love-goodbye ballad. The song is inspired by an on-again-off-again relationship that is coming to it's inevitable end. In the lyrics during the chorus, Barry sings about the relationship going nowhere and coming to an end.
Barry Rock has a charismatic style that emulates retro combined with modern tones in "Flight to Nowhere." One thing is clear, the love in the song maybe flying nowhere, but Barry is going somewhere with songs that revel in genuine emotion set to hooks that stay with you long after you've heard them. Barry continues to write one pop-rock hit after another, building a song catalog that will take him far.

Barry Rock can best be described as a singer/songwriter that has you humming his melodies & lyrics, at first listen. Born and raised in NY, Barry’s Retro musical style was influenced by the best of them. Including The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Beach boys and the Cars to name a few.
Barry majored in acting at community college and played in bands thru his college years where he developed a magnetic stage presence. He went on to start and own a DJ Entertainment Company, working weddings and corporate events as well. From 2008-2012 Barry Moved to LA where he picked up the vibe of west coast music.
