A native of New Jersey, Freddie Bourne, is a solo artist and songwriter who writes "conscious house-pop," music that is danceable with relatable lyrics, set to pop-rock, trip-hop, and acoustic stylings. Bourne found early success with his 2013 album “Only Human.” That year he opened for opening One Tree Hill’s Tyler Hilton, Dion Roy, and Mike Schavio. In 2014, he performed at the Special Olympic Games, found success on YouTube, and collaborated with other successful artists. But it wasn’t until the passing of his mother that Bourne found his direction with music that represents who he is. He signed with The Latest Noise Records and released “I Wrote These Songs with Heavy Vibes and a Piano.” After the release, Bourne had a top 40 hit in the Netherlands, three more EPs, and a cross country tour. His new EP The Troubled Boy at the Bonfire Disco is deep-house pop with a tribute to late 90's and early 00's pop music. Off the album, the song 'Jeni' will lock your ears in from beginning to end and leave you in awe.

“Jeni” isn’t the kind of song to get boring, with every new section of music bringing new surprises and textures. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, Freddie Bourne takes you on a cosmic journey through a killer bridge section.
The mood of the song is melancholic and retrospective, and this is reflected both in the music as well as the lyrics. Lyrically, Bourne speaks to an experience of falling in love with someone, only to find that they are completely different than who he originally thought. This narrative is woven beautifully throughout the song, with verse after verse of well-crafted lyrics.

It’s not often that a song comes along that exudes such a coherent mood and that is made with so much care. “Jeni” is one of those songs that one must just listen to and marvel at, wondering how such an idea comes into an artist’s mind, and how well it was executed. This is what one calls melodic, lyrical, musical genius.
