Review by Patrick Joseph
“Nevermoor” is a rich and powerful song that seems to rain down intensity like mortar shells. Pensive acoustic guitar chords are fingerpicked underneath a soulful vocal melody to create an enticing overall mood. Listeners will fall in love with this song right away, only to be taken on a wonderful journey through the peaks and valleys of a well-written song. The confluence of instruments and vocal prowess create a lovely ethereal feeling in the music.
Lyrically, “Nevermoor” is poetic and somber, matching the tone of the music perfectly.
“Your horse may be high but it's tainted and lame, Be careful not to fall upon your words, Humanity is left dead for the birds.”
These lyrics are imbued with added significance by the emotional vocal delivery.
"And the lies we tell ourselves, The stories for nobody else, And I’m sorry to the core, Broken and sore, Nevermoor.”
The heaviness of the music is a fantastic backdrop for these sentiments.
“Nevermoor” is the type of song which becomes more enjoyable with each listen-through. A gradual crescendo throughout the song is masterfully done, resulting in a massive “payoff” chorus. The vocal performance is an absolute showstopper, demonstrating impressive command over dynamic highs and lows. The deeply passionate peak of the song is supplemented beautifully by deep piano textures and cinematic percussion. Creative production techniques and instrumental dexterity underscore a moving and memorable vocal performance in this great work by Kind Hearted Thieves.

About Kind Hearted Thieves
Kind Hearted Thieves (KHT) is a lone wolf, singer-songwriter with a voice that roars like the sea on a stormy, winter night in his hometown of Blackpool, England. His powerful & haunting tones have been likened to musical greats Eddie Vedder & Nick Drake.
KHT’s anthemic folk-rock sound first emerged with the 2020 debut single ‘Nevermoor’ telling the tale of a futuristic, dystopian landscape left broken & barren by human greed. It’s haunting, anthemic & evokes a life-affirming mood in a way that hasn’t been done since Disturbed’s blistering cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic ‘The Sound of Silence’. With the music video notching up half a million views on Facebook within a matter of months, it seems that KHT’s appeal is instant, especially in these uncertain times that demand isolation & force reflection like never before. February 2021 will see KHT release the hotly anticipated follow-up single ‘Favour The Bold’. With its lyrical theme inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art form of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold (built on the idea that embracing flaws and imperfections, creates an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art.) KHT sails into 2021 with a positive, poignant message of embracing life’s imperfections & finding the beauty in even the darkest situations.
