Peter Unger - 'Memories of God'

Review By Victoria Scott & Staff

Peter Unger graces us with his inspirational song, “Memories of God” from his album Songs of Grace. A warm acoustic guitar introduces the melody softly as Peter’s wistful voice sings the sweet verse. You will feel an overwhelming sense of joy and peace as Peter sings the chorus. The instrumentation builds as piano and bass come in. The rhythm picks up as well, and the message of the song becomes clearer.

"Memories of God" reminds us that no matter what our anxieties and fears are, even death, we are never lost or forgotten when we are bonded to Christ's saving Grace. Peter's heartfelt performance is touching as he sings, "O Lord, when I am old, and my hair is white as snow. When my body is failing, and my mind starts to go. When my memories are all I have, and they start to fade away. If I had no memories, would you love me, anyway?" Peter's smooth vocals and peaceful guitar raise you up in this inspiring and uplifting song. There may be a time when you forget your connection to God, but God will never forget you.

“Memories of God” is a beautiful piece with an equally beautiful message. Unger’s soothing vocals match the tone of the piece and create an overall wholesome sound. His music is like a smooth wave that washes over you. “Memories of God” is a beautiful song that reminds us that life is a blessing and that we can get through hard times. Peter is a brilliant songwriter who is genuine and relatable. His inspiring and hopeful lyrics are a beautiful reminder that there is nothing to fear when God’s love embraces you.
