Peter Unger - 'Song For Peace'

“Song for Peace” by Pastor Peter Unger is a folk song that has the emotional feel of the anti-war pieces of the 1960's. It is reminiscent of past folk artists such as Pete Seeger. The song features a 12-string acoustic as well as an electric providing lead, which all stand to back the vocals.

As the piece goes on, the unique harmony provides a series of twists and turns to keep the listeners interest. This song features Pastor Peter Unger on lead vocals and 12 string acoustic, and Kent Heckman on additional instruments.

The song’s message is just as the title suggests - peace. Pastor Unger wants the future generations to know about the past more than ever because of the issues in our world nowadays regarding the rise in nationalism in the US and in Europe.

Lines such as, “I need peace, the soldier said,” and, “I feel nothing,” reflect not only the desensitization of war in our world, but the need for everyone to realize that peace should triumph over war. The chorus is spoken in another language; however, this is reflected in the tagline where it states that, “in every language, it means the same. Peace between you and me.”

Peter Unger has a beautiful song that should be cherished by all. Society should appreciate the message that he has to offer and follow suit because the future is all we got.
