Stellarscope - 'Sweet Surrender'

Review by Brandon Watts & Staff

“Sweet Surrender” is yet another killer release from Stellarscope that showcases their uniquely addictive punk/shoegaze sound. The record kicks off with high energy, intense tom driven percussion that immediately draws you in. The high-octane beat is soon greeted by distorted, droning guitar chords and pedaling bass.

With the entrance of reverberant vocals, the arrangement melds together creating that signature wall of punk sound as the guitars sound more washed together for that perfect blend of aggressive, yet dreamy instrumentation.

Through all this, upon reaching the hook, the vocal melodies still get stuck in your head taking some influence from dream pop as they shine through singing,

“Oh, I will never tell you lies Oh, I will never let you down”

"Stellarscope knows how to find a striking balance between being vocally and instrumentally driven with “Sweet Surrender” being a prime example of how they do just that. Make sure to check out this track as well as their other new releases for a stellar post-punk experience with a dynamic range of grungy records that will have you coming back for more.
