Bizness Suit

Bizness Suit is a four-piece rock group out of Charleston, SC. The band was first founded in2014 by Sean Barry (guitar/vocals) and Drew Tapp (bass). The two were able to put together their first EP, self-titled ‘Bizness Suit.’ At the time of the final tracking for the EP, they brought in Jeremy Hunton (drums) to record on the last few tracks and inevitably become the 3rd member of the band. I wasn’t until 2017 when they brought in Hunter Moss as a guest guitarist to perform lead that they finalized the group with their 4th member. This year, Bizness Suits have released their sophomore album, ‘KING,’ introducing all the new elements that the new additions to group bring. Catch up with these stellar rockers with our most recent interview with them below and don’t miss out on their stellar music!

For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! If three words just aren't enough tell us more!!

Nostalgic and modern and groovy.

When you are writing a song, where do you draw inspiration from? Or what topics do you like to write or sing about?

The words usually come from personal reflection. Love, loss, rock n’ roll, painful life, endless death, perceived shortcomings. The music just kind of bleeds its way out.

Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?

A priest stops being a priest on a Monday as much as a musician stops being a musician on a Monday. It doesn’t matter if we’re reading a book, playing a Star Wars video game, bussing tables at a bar, or working for a . (which Hunter is doing) – we’re always writing. Sitting on the porch with a beer – we’re writing, walking to dinner – we’re writing, watching the fireworks go off – we’re writing, listening to Tchaikovsky – we’re writing, getting on an airplane – we’re writing, playing Mario 64. We’re always writing.

If you were to create your favorite playlist of other artists music, what would your top 3 songs be? And, what artists have influenced your music the most?

“Been Down So Long” – The Doors “Cornerstone” – Arctic Monkeys “What’s Up” – Four Non Blondes The Doors, Wilco, Queens of the Stone Age, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? Emotional doesn't have to mean sad etc., it can be a high energy too...(sad, happy, angry, fear, etc.)

“Blindsided” on our new album King. It’s about not seeing the end of a relationship coming and the way it seems so abrupt and impossible.

What is your dream gig? Is there a gig that you really want that would be the ultimate show for you?

Prince opens for us at Madison Square Garden. It’s been our goal since day one.

Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?

We are touring the southeast right now, promoting our new album King. But we’ve already started working on our third album. Even though we’re playing out, it’s not stopping us from moving forward with new material.

Tell us where fans can access your music.
