Review Written by Victoria Scott & Staff
"Ghost in Love" is a supernatural electric-pop, love ballad by Dustin McKamie. The song starts with an ethereal ambiance before opening into hypnotic instrumentation which builds as the song progresses. The song smoothly transition into the bridge and the chorus is very catchy. Dustin’s arrangement in “Ghost in Love” is haunting and captivating.
As Dustin's raspy vocals glide across your ears, a deep sub-bass and electronic pop backbeat create an eerie echo in the background. Along with his raspy-pop vocal quality, the melodic phrasing is reminiscent of pop icon, George Michaels. Dustin's lyrics resonate over the ethereal pop-rock rhythms that creep along and get under your skin. "Feel like a million, but you say I only got, ten-dollars. I'm just ghost in love, and I'm burning for the body, you may be a ghost in love, but I'm burning for your body."
"Ghost in Love' has lyrics that are up to the listener's interpretation and full of imagery. A literal interpretation is that someone has fallen in love with a person who is no longer available, either emotionally or physically. Another interpretation could be about feeling invisible, like a ghost. And, the song could also be about the "burning" desire for the physical connection between two people. Regardless of the way you interpret the lyrics, you will be enthralled!
Dustin McKamie is an excellent storyteller with a vivid imagination that makes him standout as a lyricist. With ominous vocals and an ethereal pop/electric rock style, his music is edgy and full of life. There's an electricity that resonates through you as you listen to "Ghost in Love."
Dustin is a brilliant songwriter and a must add to your playlist:
