“Safe In Your Arms” is a beautiful love letter of a song. From the very start this song shimmers and glistens as if it is being performed from heaven itself. It’s a very gentle song that kindle’s a strong sense of safety and love. While the instrumentation mostly features acoustic instruments, the production and additional synth keys give this song an ethereal and airy atmosphere.
Lyrically this is the kind of song that anyone can relate to if they are with someone who they truly love. Ida Maree’s lyrics impeccably express the level of serenity a person feels when they are connected with a true love. “And I’m safe in your arms, so I’ll rest in your love, There’s no ocean too wide or valley too low, that could ever keep us apart.” The bridge reveals a new layer to the lyrics as Ida Maree sings, “Jesus you’re my reward, come fill me with your glory.. This song is her love letter to Jesus and her faith. This allows the listener to relate in potentially two ways to the serene lyrics.
The arrangement creates a tenderhearted foundation for Ida Maree’s powerful vocals to express her love and faith. Acoustic guitar and piano are impeccably layered in the mix, almost sounding as one unique instrument. Together they create the backbone for this song which is further enhanced by glimmering synths. The mix and production here is very washy and heavy on reverb, creating an atmosphere that feels large and other-worldly.
“Safe In Your Arms” is a powerful but tender anthem, singing for both love and faith and how warm their embrace can be. Ida Maree is extraordinary and a must add to your inspirational playlist.

Her debut album Saving Grace was acclaimed as The Album of the Year by Australia’s leading Christian Radio Charts, best known for the success of her songs Saving Grace and Butterfly. But while in Nashville in 2014, Ida came into contact with Grammy nominated producer Billy Smiley (WhiteHeart, Johnny Cash, Clay Aikens, Steven Curtis Chapman, Sandy Patty), and they formed a partnership, which didn't come around to making the music until all the pieces seemed fit together in 2018. For a year and a half, they have worked tirelessly towards defining her voice, sound, story, and songs. The result is the critically acclaimed album Chapter 2 which is available on all major platforms.
