Jamie Lynn Vessels –‘Don’t Worry'

Music Review by Matt Wong & Staff

"Don’t Worry” is rock/Americana song written by New Orleans based singer/songwriter Jamie Lynn Vessels. The ballad begins with an eight bar intro of drums, bass, and guitar setting the soundscape. In addition to Vessels’ enticing vocals which enter on the first chorus, the simple, yet well crafted bass-line catches the listener’s attention as it supports the melody. Brief rolling piano lines come in on the second chorus and adds motion to the song, in addition to complementing the sparse guitar part.

The song’s clever guitar part makes good use of delay, and gives the listener the feeling that they are situated on a moving cloud. The song’s chorus-bridge-chorus form is perfect for the song’s vibe and ends with a beautiful extended instrumental section.

“Don’t Worry” was written by Vessels’ to remind herself to remain optimistic in life. The lyrics “Don’t worry, your heart will be just fine. Don’t worry, you’re gonna be alright” capture the message of the song. She also sings about how struggle, toil, and trouble are just part of life, but in the end, love will “lead you along your away.”

“Don’t Worry” by Jamie Lynn Vessels is a well written and well performed song. Clearly a talented songwriter, Vessels’ lyrics are written with the everyday person in mind, and her abilities as a vocalist showcase her unique, expressive style. Shout out to producer Louie Ludwig, and the team of talented musicians and engineers who contributed to this fantastic production. As the song flows over your worries, Jamie Lynn Vessels song ultimately heals.
