Last Kiss Goodnight - 'Forty Five'

Review Written by Victoria Scott & Staff

Music can influence, and even change, people, movements, and society. Sharing songs about peace and social justice, ultimately reminds the world of the importance of peace, fairness, love and unity. Last Kiss Goodnight's song "Forty Five" is one of the amazing songs that will be featured on World National Indie Radio's (WNIR) 'Songs For Change' radio special during the month of November.

A thunderous drum introduces Last Kiss Goodnight's alternative rock song "Forty Five" while heavy metal guitar and bustling drum rhythms kicks-off the groove. Ray Patricks' gritty lead vocals create an intense vibe.

A killer Metallica-esque electric guitar riff builds up to the chorus as the song continues to progress creating tension in the rhythm section. The band's performance is outstanding. Kudos to the performers: Dan Stroud and Carlo Pizarro, rhythm guitars; Robert Lasky, drums; and Kevin Baker, bass guitar.

"Forty Five" is about accountabilty and speaking out to protect our freedoms and rights. We, as a society, must rise above discrimination, intolerance and injustice and those who are selling it. The United States administration has done much damage, and we the people are paying the price. We must support each other and stand together as a society. The lyrics depict the weariness and the struggle:

"Why can’t they see it Brian wash and violent Bad news I can’t handle it I am Sick

Sick of all this shit We don’t believe a word you say We don’t buy the lies your selling"

Last Kiss Goodnight advocates the importance of speaking out. "Forty Five" is a bold, energetic and intense song with a profound message about tolerance and using our voice to speak for others who can't. Last Kiss Goodnight uses descriptive imagery and stellar musicianship to create a powerful impact you won't soon forget.
