“Turn to The Movement” is a fun and bright classic rock song. Les Fradkin brings the 70’s rock vibe while also combining it with his unique guitar capabilities. The song opens up hot and heavy right away with a riff that is so much fun and is filled with positivity. This is the kind of music that offers an alternate path for the life we live while encouraging you to rock out and have a great time. The energy level is kept high the whole time and has more than enough variety to keep a firm grasp on your attention. The song almost reminds me of a hymn you might sing in church, with a rock twist of course.
Lyrically, Les Fradkin is singing about the fractured and divided world we currently live in during these modern times. His lyrics are here to offer another perspective on how to see the world, and he is offering it from the viewpoint of faith. In the verses, he writes about the political hostility we currently live in, and he writes them in a way that is inexplicit so that anyone may relate to them.
“Collapsing of our nation, a ship of angry fools, they’ve been indoctrinated, trying to toe the line”.
The lyrics have a catchy rhythm to them, never saying too much all while making their point very clear. In the Chorus he contrasts the negativity of the verses with some cheering anthemic lyrics.
“Turn to the movement, turn to the light, turn to the truth, and you’ll stop a fight, anything you want can turn out right”
The arrangement is the classic rock band setup, and it works so well here. The intro kicks off with heavy drums and some tight slap-bass. The drums and bass aptly hold down the song's unique and fast-paced groove for the entirety of the song, while pad-like effects and searing hot guitar lines ornament the arrangement. The pad-like sounds have this wonderful angelic sound to them which contrasts so nicely with Les Fradkin’s more mid-range and restrained vocal style. The vocal harmonies he adds in the chorus’ also add some more flavor to his vocals and add to the angelic-like quality of the chorus. The bridge features a very full and melodic guitar solo that is a variation of the main chorus’s melody. The guitar tone has that classic “melt your face off” sound and it’s very powerful sounding. “Turn to The Movement” is a positive and uplifting song that grooves hard and is sure to leave you with something to think about.
