“I Ain’t Goin Nowhere” is a deeply determined song with passion and faith. The beat and instrumental track are overall very dark and create the sensation of being underground, but the lyrics offer a positive and uplifting view. This combination of light positivity and dark instrumental vibes creates a very interesting conflict that is representative of life itself. The confidence displayed by PreacherMan is infectious; this is a song that is undeniably cool and radiates a bold type of strength.
Lyrically, PreacherMan is addressing those who try to knock him down by proclaiming his faith in god keeps him strong and positive. The hook of the track is very catchy and uses short statements that make the songs message very clear and serve as something that is very fun to sing along to. “Waiting on me to fall, but I ain’t going nowhere, covered in his blood yeah, under the lords care”. PreacherMan aptly weaves the strength god empowers him with along with a poignant message to his haters. “Watching my every move, some of them real scandalous, judging everything I do but in God I can handle it”.
The instrumental backing track is largely responsible for the tough and bold vibe that the song powerfully emanates. The main melody is played on a nice, soft and round synth that perfectly sits in the back of the mix to allow complete focus on PreacherMan’s heavy and growly rapping voice. The percussion features typical trap sounds in the kick, snare and hi hat and they create a strong foundation for the whole song. The percussion is further ornamented with some subtle but luscious ambient hits that give this song a strong sense of atmosphere. The main hook section is set apart from the verses with the addition of a low brass-like synth that creates a subtle sense of epic attitude. This same synth appears a few times in the verses, but only in short bursts allowing its primary use to be what makes the hook section special. “I Ain’t Goin Nowhere” is a powerful song that is as cool as it is confident.
